Removing Applications from the Software Centre

Removing Applications from your PC

The procedure for removing applications from the Software Centre is simply the reverse of that for installation: simply search for the application and click on the “Remove” button:

Remove Button

Alternatively, you can use the “Remove” button from within the “More Info” screen:

Remove Button within the More Info Screen

Next, enter the root password to confirm the deletion:

Authenticate Removal

You'll see a progress bar display in the header showing the current status of the removal. Once complete, you'll see the “Remove” button will change to an “Install” button.

If you search for the application in the Software Centre in the future, you will now see the green tick has been removed, showing it is no longer installed

No Green Tick
